How to Play & Controls

Getting Started: Upon launching War Robots, you’ll find yourself in the Robot Commander HQ. Select “Play” to enter the matchmaking queue and be paired with other robot commanders from around the world.

Robot Selection: Before each battle, you’ll enter the robot selection phase. Initially, you’ll have access to a few basic robots, with more becoming available as you progress. Strategically choose robots that complement each other and cover different roles within your hangar, such as close-combat brawlers, long-range snipers, and resilient defenders.

In-Battle Controls: Once on the battlefield, navigate your robot using the virtual joystick on the left side of your screen. To engage enemies, use the fire triggers on the right. Tap to lock onto a target, and hold the trigger to maintain continuous fire. For maximum impact, try to ambush enemies from the sides or behind to inflict critical damage.

Objective Play: Your primary objective in many game modes is to capture beacons – strategic control points scattered across the map. Move your robot into a beacon’s designated circle to begin capturing it. The more beacons your team controls, the more resources, reinforcements, and repair points you’ll gain over time.

Team Coordination: Effective teamwork is crucial. Utilize the in-game chat to communicate with your squad. Call out enemy locations, identify low-health bots, and coordinate beacon captures to maintain team organization and tactical superiority.

Respawn & Progression: If your robot is destroyed, a brief timer will initiate before you can spawn a replacement. During this time, you can provide cover fire for allies, heal bots at your base, or defend captured beacons from enemy assaults. As you earn XP from battles, open silver and gold chests to unlock new robots and weapons, continuously expanding your hangar. Aim to build a well-balanced hangar with at least one close-range, mid-range, and long-range bot to adapt to any situation.

Advanced Tactics: Equip specialized modules like Ancile shields and anti-control modules to counter enemy abilities. Use phase shift and jump modules for rapid repositioning during intense engagements. In team modes, focus fire on a single enemy bot to eliminate threats quickly. Tanky bots should draw enemy aggression, allowing damage-per-second (DPS) bots to deal damage from behind, while healers keep allies alive. Always adapt your tactics based on the game mode: prioritize capturing beacons in Beacon Rush, relentlessly hunt enemies in Deathmatch, and stick close to your squadmates in Squad modes.
